Williams, a top liberal arts college in Massachusetts, welcomes transfer students and especially encourages community college students and veterans to apply. It meets 100% of each admitted student's demonstrated need for their entire time at Williams.

Why it matters

Undocumented and DACA students are admitted without regard to ability to pay with full need met, and about 70% of international students get Williams aid.

Who can apply

U.S. citizensGreen-card holdersDACA / TPSUndocumented studentsInternational students (F-1 and other visas)Refugees and asylees

Williams's Requirements and Deadlines page says it considers all undocumented and DACA-designated applicants without regard to ability to pay and meets 100% of their demonstrated need. For international students (anyone without U.S. citizenship or a green card), Williams is not need-blind, but it meets 100% of demonstrated need for those admitted, and international applicants must mark their intent to apply for aid on the admission application.

Eligibility

You should have at least one year of full-time college coursework by the time you enroll, and you cannot already hold a bachelor's degree. Williams accepts up to two years of transfer credit because of its two-year residency rule. Testing is optional.

What you need

• At least one year of college coursework
• Common App essay
• Two college instructor recommendations
• College report and all transcripts
• CSS Profile for aid (international: after admission)

How to apply

Apply through the Common Application by March 3 with your college report, transcripts and two college instructor recommendations. International students must say yes to the financial aid question on the application to be considered for aid.

March 3, 2027 for the admission application and the financial aid application (both are due at the same time at Williams).
