Harvard admits about a dozen transfer students each fall from students who completed one to two years of full-time, in-person liberal arts coursework. The same application, aid program and process apply to international students. A fee waiver is available by email.

Why it matters

Harvard states that its financial aid program applies regardless of nationality or citizenship, which makes it one of the few ultra-selective transfer routes open to international and undocumented students.

Who can apply

U.S. citizensGreen-card holdersDACA / TPSUndocumented studentsInternational students (F-1 and other visas)Refugees and asylees

Harvard's transfer page says: The application process and requirements are exactly the same for international students. Our financial aid program also applies to all applicants regardless of nationality or citizenship.

Eligibility

At least one continuous academic year, and no more than two years, in a full-time, in-person liberal arts degree program at one college by the time you enroll. Harvard does not give credit for online, part-time, vocational or professional courses (nursing, business, accounting), so students in those programs may be ineligible. SAT or ACT required. No prior bachelor's degree.
