Cornell admits transfer students for fall entry across nine colleges. Undocumented students (with or without DACA) are treated as domestic and need-blind. International students are need-aware but, once admitted, have 100% of their need met.

Why it matters

A large Ivy with many pre-professional majors (hotel, engineering, business, human ecology, labor relations) and written policies that cover undocumented and international transfers.

Cornell's financial aid page says: undocumented students with or without DACA status are considered domestic students for admissions and financial aid. Admission for international students is need-aware, and Cornell meets 100 percent of admitted international undergraduates' demonstrated financial need.

Eligibility

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 12 semester hours of college credit earned after high school while enrolled full-time elsewhere. Students with a prior bachelor's degree are not eligible. Each Cornell college sets its own course prerequisites. Some majors require portfolios or resumes.

How to apply

Submit the Transfer Common App with the Cornell writing supplement, high school and college transcripts, College Report, Academic Evaluation and Mid-Term Report. File the CSS Profile (code 2098) by March 15 for aid.

Application and fee (or fee waiver) due March 15, 2027. Other materials April 15. International applicants must file the CSS Profile by March 15 or lose aid eligibility for all four years. $85 fee, Common App fee waiver accepted.
