Why it matters
It is a full-time paid policy job that explicitly accepts DACA recipients with a work permit, a strong first step after graduation for students who cannot use federal fellowships.

The official program page says applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, asylees, or people lawfully authorized to work full time with evidence of employment authorization. F-1 and M-1 students are not eligible. DACA recipients must hold a valid work permit when accepted and keep it for the whole fellowship.
Eligibility
You must have earned a bachelor's degree in any field between May 2024 and August 2027, so current seniors graduating by summer 2027 can apply. CHCI prefers a 3.0 GPA or higher, leadership and a commitment to public service. You cannot be enrolled in a graduate program during the fellowship.
